United Ventures

United Ventures

Founded in 2013 by Paolo Gesess and Massimiliano Magrini, United Ventures United Ventures is an investment management company focused on new innovation and digital technology. The business was unique in Italy, being authorised by the Bank of Italy as a Fixed Asset investment company. This marked the introduction of a new investment vehicle, alongside traditional asset management companies and other funding platforms such as Clubdeal.

The new company operates under the European directive on alternative fund managers (AIFMD), which came into force on 21 July 2011. This legislation introduced a series of measures aimed at creating a European internal market for alternative investment fund managers by establishing a framework for the authorization, operation and transparency of funds.

The adoption of the legislation allows United Ventures to operate in an international marketplace, positioning itself as a leading player, attracting capital from both Italian and foreign investors. It is subject to international legislation aligning it with all other European players operating in the sector.

The authorization process that concluded with the approval of United Ventures by the Bank of Italy, enhanced the value of the international fund management company, United Ventures Spa. So far, it has attracted €70m of capital, and invested in 16 start-up companies (including Cloud4Wi, Mainstreaming, Moneyfarm, Faceit, Musixmatch, BuzzMyVideos and Lovethesign) which, starting out in Italy, operate globally.
